The following are links to a variety of digital resources for students and families to access during this period of school closure, due to COVID-19. These resources are not intended to replace the curriculum which students would have been receiving if they had been back in school. They are intended to help keep students engaged as we transition to a teacher led learning environment.

As a Board, we remain committed to creating teaching and learning conditions that will, as best as possible given the circumstances, lead to the successful completion of the school year for all students.


Celebrating the Gift of Our Families

At this time, the Halton Catholic District School Board would like to celebrate the gift of our families. If this event has taught us anything, it is how interconnected we are and dependant on one another. Our faith tradition is of great inspiration and offers us an opportunity to put things into perspective. During this challenging time, families are encouraged to enjoy time creating moments and memories that will last a lifetime, most especially during this difficult situation. Learn at Home Resources

On March 20th, the Ministry of Education released the first phase of the Learn at Home​ resources to support student learning during this school closure. They are designed as supplementary resources to help students practice math and literacy skills during the school closure period.​

In addition, TVO launched a new learning initiative designed to provide enhanced access to a host of TVO digital learning products during the current school closure. The TVO learning initiative provides free, online, easy access to learning tools for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. You can find more information and resources below:​

Math story time​

For Kindergarten to Grade 2

Using stories to explore simple math concepts, engage children in math and make learning at home fun, this resource is designed to spark conversations about math and its connections to the world of a child. You may be prompted to download the free Math Storytime app. No accounts or passwords are required.

TVO Kids

For Kindergarten to Grade 6

Here is a selection of ad-free videos, games and content that supports the Ontario curriculum.

TVO Kids offers educational programing throughout the day for school-aged children. Check out their broadcast schedule for more information and show times. Below is a list of YouTube Channels dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) and literacy programs:

For Kindergarten to Grade 6

Free online games that support the mastery of math concepts and improve understanding of S.T.E.M. and the social sciences. Improve foundational math skills and inspire a love of math.
